Nanoose Bay high jumper Mike Mason came fourth at the prestigious Harry Jerome Track Classic Sunday in Burnaby. The Olympian leapt 2.25 metres – five centimetres off his personal best – at the international meet.

Mike Mason’s highest jump nearly put him on the podium.
The Nanoose Bay man finished fourth in high jump with a leap of 2.25 metres Sunday at an International Association of Athletics Federations Grand Prix meet in Belem, Brazil.
Mason’s jump was eight centimetres off American Jesse Williams’ gold-medal effort.
