DONNA ATKINSON
Donna Atkinson competed in Water Polo and Diving at the provincial and national level. She stayed involved with both sports after her competition days as the Executive Director of the Alberta Water Polo Association and as a Board member of Pacific Coast Diving and the Ontario Diving Association. Donna is Director of Parks, Recreation & Community Development for the City of Victoria. 

 

ROMAN HAHN
Roman Hahn is an avid skier and golfer and also enjoys cycling recreationally. He believes that sport is highly positive thing that contributes greatly to the health of individuals and communities
 
Roman is an Investment Advisor and Vice President with RBC Dominion Securities and also a member of the Rotary Club of Victoria and the Masonic Lodge (Henderson). His past volunteer roles include the PacificSport Golf tournament committee, the Victoria Social Credit Constituency (Board member) and the Hidden Valley Conservation Club (Treasurer and President). 

 

GEOFF JOHNSON
Geoff Johnson competed as a surfer and in Judo while at university in Australia, and later coached high school Rugby and Olympic Freestyle wrestling.
 
A retired school superintendent, he volunteered as with the BC Senior Summer Games (Director of Protocol) and the Society for the Advancement of Excellence in Education (board member).  He currently teaches guitar at the Duncan Elder College and his lifelong interests include classical and jazz guitar, surfing, cycling, and Hispano-American literature.  

 

DON MANNING
Don Manning participated in sport throughout his life and now enjoys golfing and swimming and watching Rugby. He became involved with PacificSport Victoria because he “wanted a positive volunteer experience, surrounded by motivated and energetic people, while doing good work for our community”.

A graduate of University of Victoria, he is also involved with the Harbourside Rotary Club (Board of Directors) and was involved with the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary as the Chairman of Volunteer Clothing. He was the owner and manager of Mark’s Work Wearhouse until his recent retirement.


 

 

ALISON PARTRIDGE
Alison Partridge played field hockey at University and now cites swimming as her favorite sport. She became involved with PacificSport Victoria because she believes in its goals and is looking forward to contributing to the achievement of these goals.
 
A graduate of Queens University, Alison is the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for one of BC’s premier tourist attractions, Butchart Gardens.

 

ROB REID
Rob Reid is an avid marathon runner with a personal best of 2 hour, 22 minutes. He has been the Race Director of the Royal Victoria Marathon for 12 years and became involved with PacificSport Victoria because of his interest in sport development and community well-being.

Rob’s other volunteer commitments include the United Way Campaign Cabinet (Community Council member) and Runners of Compassion (Director).He is the owner of Frontrunners, New Balance Victoria and Bella on Johnson.  

 

ROBIN RICHARDSON
Robin Richardson played competitive cricket and recreational field hockey, citing the latter as his favourite sport. He became involved with PacificSport Victoria “to be involved in the promotion of sport, at all levels, on Vancouver Island”.
 
A graduate of Earnley School in England, Robin is also a member of the Institute of Directors (London, England). His volunteer commitments include PacificSport Regional Society (Chair), Canada Men’s National Field Hockey Team (Manager) and Field Hockey Victoria (Chair).  He is the VP Operations for Scott Plastics

 

LUCY SMITH
Lucy Smith has 15 national championships and a silver World Championships medal to her name as an elite distance runner/ traithlete /duathlete. While distance running is her favourite sport, she ranks sailing as a distant second. She became involved with PacificSport Victoria because “I believe 100% in the mission and goals of the organization and I would like to use my 20 years experience as a competitive athlete to give back to the new generation of athletes that are going to benefit from the services here”.

A graduate of Dalhousie University (BA) and UBC (BEd), she holds a teaching degree and is currently completing the transition from full time high performance athlete to a career in coaching, sports and wellness. Her volunteer commitments have included coaching, speaking and assisting at running events


 

IAN TAYLOR
Ian Taylor competed in alpine skiing in high school and still cites skiing as his favourite sport. He became involved with PacificSport Victoria “to participate in the community and help enhance an incredible legacy for future Canadians”.

He is the Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Custom House, and has been involved in the foreign exchange industry since 1989. His volunteer commitments have included the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and the Yukon and Big Brothers. 

 

HOWARD WALDNER
Howard Waldner enjoys golfing and running and is interested in expanding PacificSport Victoria’s community involvement.

A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Howard is a member of the College of Health Services Executives (Canada and USA). His volunteer commitments include Care West (Board of Directors) and the Vocational and Rehabilitation Research Institute (Board of Directors). He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

  
 

JENNIFER WALINGA
Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion in rowing, Jennifer Walinga represented Canada from 1983-1992. She became involved with PacificSport Victoria  “to become involved in the sport landscape in BC and support its development because I think sport offers people such a positive model for and avenue toward a truly collaborative and functional society”.

A graduate of Brock University, York University, University of Western Ontario and Royal Roads University, she is currently working on her PhD at U Vic. In addition to teaching at St. Michaels University School, Jennifer is a Change Management consultant and facilitator with her own business InSync Performance Consultants and her volunteer commitments include coaching rowing, track, volleyball and basketball.

 
WAYNE WIDDIS
Wayne Widdis has a sport background that includes Rugby and also enjoys running. He is a passionate believer in the positive role sport plays in society and is very interested in assisting in the development of a master sport plan for the Greater Victoria region.
 
As the President and Founder of Focused Change International, Wayne has over 25 years experience as a management consultant in the field of organization and human systems change.
